Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp

Five luxuriously appointed elevated tents with a full bathroom and private deck overlooking the bush Authentic South African bush cuisine
Authentic, unpretentious, homely bush environment

Kwafubesi’s luxuriously appointed tents, which have the Big Five as their namesake, are raised on platforms each with its own private deck where you can enjoy a romantic private dinner for two or picnic breakfast.

Discreetly tucked away in the surrounding bushveld to ensure guests’ absolute privacy, the comfortable furnishings, African décor and full bathroom, including shower, large stone bath and stunning views, provide a welcome sanctuary from the heat of the bush.

Gaze at the blazing bright starry Limpopo sky, and drift asleep to the cacophony of frogs and insects. Awake to the early morning cooing of the Cape Turtle Dove, then step outside on the deck to admire the Waterberg landscape.

Nature lovers will revel from the unrivalled closeness with the Waterberg’s beautiful bush surroundings.

“Place of the Giant Eagle Owl”, is the ideal location for a starry-eyed getaway. Only two-and-a-half hours’ drive from Johannesburg to Waterberg Area which is a Malaria free zone. A Kwafubesi game drive will reveal new scents, curious sounds and the beauty of an authentic African landscape to delight your senses. Offering spectacular golden plains, breathtaking sunsets and Big 5 game viewing.

Game drives are offered to Kwafubesi Tented Safari Camp guests twice a day – once early morning and again in time for sundowners in the late afternoon, and depending on the time of year you visit, each experience can be unique. Watch the vivid change of the seasons as the green thickets and grasslands give way to the bushveld greys and yellows of autumn. Feel the chilly winter air on your cheeks before sunrise and witness the rebirth of the bush as the first summer rains fall and with it the exciting arrival of lambing season.

For panoramic views across the beautiful Mabula Game Reserve, there’s nothing more special than heading up Dicks Hill. See Impala, Zebra, Giraffe, Eland and Ostrich all graze together on the vast open grassland plains; the herd of elephant crashing through thick bush to get to the juiciest leaves and a shy hippo pair hiding everything but their protruding nostrils under the water.

Admire the resident lion pride lazing under an African thorn tree after a tiring hunt or watch silently as the beautiful, yet terrifying, Golden Orb spider spins her thick web across two Silver Cluster Leaf trees.

A Kwafubesi game drive will reveal new scents, curious sounds and the beauty of an authentic African landscape to delight your senses.
