Hamiltons Tented Camp is located within the private concession of Mluwati in the western region of the Kruger National Park. Mluwati Concession was born out of a spirit of ensuring the future sustainability of the national park. Mluwati is home for over 114 reptiles, 34 amphibians and 147 mammal species, including Africa’s Big Five. Over 500 species, in fact many of which occur in the Mluwati including the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, Crested Barbet and Burchell’s Glossy Starling.

Arrival
You’ll be collected from the airport (or hotel).
Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Day 1
Arrival / Pick up at Johannesburg Airport or Hotel
Guests will be met at OR Tambo International Airport or Hotel by their driver/guide for your private transfer to Hamiltons Tented Camp. Your driver/guide will have a welcoming board with your name on it.
On the way you will have two comfort breaks, your driver/guide will ask you prior to a comfort break if it will be necessary. Our first comfort break will be at Total Petroport Alzu. You will have the opportunity to spot some Rhino, African Buffalo, Eland, Ostrich and various other wildlife. You can have a quick coffee or snack at this stop and use the clean restrooms. Your driver/guide will advise you on the time frame and when the next stops will be.
Upon arrival your driver/guide will help you check in. You will meet your butler and safari ranger here with some welcome drinks, followed by an afternoon high tea and your first afternoon/evening safari drive where you can enjoy sundowners in the wild before returning to camp for dinner. Star-gazing can follow before you go to bed.
Day 2
Full Day at Hamiltons Tented Camp
First Full Day at Hamiltons Tented Camp
Your first full day at Hamiltons Tented Camp will start with an early morning wake up call followed with an early morning safari drive. After your safari drive your butler dressed in traditional colonial uniforms will serve you a champagne breakfast while you enjoy the soothing noise of the bush.
You have the rest of the day to enjoy some leisure activities before the Afternoon High Tea. Please note that extra activities are optional and for your own account.
You will have another afternoon/evening safari drive before dinner with the dining traditions of old in spectacular bushveld surroundings will be served.
Some stargazing and a nightcap can follow before you enjoy a sound night’s sleep beneath your canvas tents.
Day 3
Full Day
Last full day at Hamiltons Tented Camp
Yet again you will have an early morning wake up call by your safari ranger who will take you on a morning safari drive.
Upon your return from your morning safari you will have breakfast. You will have the rest of the day again for some leisure activities. You can arrange with your safari ranger to embark on a bush walk and get to know the smaller intricacies of nature. Here you will be able to smell, touch and feel the natural surroundings you have travelled so far for. Your guide will spend time teaching you more about the tracks and signs of the bush as well as about the smaller animals often overlooked in pursuit of the Big Five.
A high tea lunch will be served again.
Your last evening game drive with sundowners will be your last activity of the day.
You can arrange prior to dinner for an authentic bush meal, where the Big five might surround the dining area. Don’t stress it will be safe.
Enjoy your last night sleep in Hamiltons with all the noises of the bush.
Day 4
Early Morning Game drive, breakfast and departure to JHB
Departure and last morning safari
You will have the choice if you want to have an early morning wake up to embark on your last morning safari drive or to have an early breakfast. If you choose to still go on the safari drive you can have a breakfast upon your return.
Your driver/guide will meet you after breakfast and check out at reception for your departure back to the airport or hotel.
You can for an extra cost and depending your flight time add a Panorama Tour via your departure to the airport.
