About Welgevonden Private Game Reserve:
The Reserve is a 36,000 hectare private game reserve in the Waterberg District of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. A 2.5-hour drive from Johannesburg.
Welgevonden, can be translated to “well found”, or a “serendipitous discovery”. The piece of land transforms at every opportunity, offering breathtaking views of untouched African wilderness and memories that will last a lifetime. Welgevonden is home to more than 50 mammal species. While these include the famous Big Five. Day 1
Departure to Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway
You will start your Journey to Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway. Perched regally amidst the kudu-berry and velvet–leaf bushwillows on the tip of a magnificent gorge overlooking the Sterkstroom River, Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway is just that; a romantic, secluded hideaway from the world’s worries, an intimate encounter with the beauty of the ruggedly scenic Welgevonden Game Reserve. Upon arrival you can enjoy a massage treatment in the privacy of your own suite.
You will head on your first evening game drive and after you will have dinner, every dish served at Clifftop is a culinary masterpiece. Afterwards you can Relax on your private deck enjoying the cool breeze or sip a full-bodied red in front of one of the lodge’s cosy fires. Whether you’re on honeymoon or simply seeking a romantic sojourn, Clifftop will soothe your soul; its characteristic silver, grey and white tones, private nooks and natural wood and stone features creating a sense of calm throughout.
Day 2
Full Day Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway
Kick-start your day before the sun rises, dunking a homemade rusk into a steamy cup of coffee before setting off on your morning game drive. Watch as the bush awakens around you the mighty elephants beginning their daily trudge through the bush seeking to fill their bellies with delectable ‘treets’ Burchell’s Zebra grazing on the plains in perfect peace, a lion still feeding on the remnants of her wildebeest kill. Take a dip in your private pool or read a book on your secluded terrace, the African sun will keep you warm and contented.
Explore the bush on an Evening Game Drive as it turns from day to night as the rising Southern Cross directs you home to a romantic dinner, superb South African wine, exceptional hospitality and a roaring fire. Indulge in one last Amarula on the rocks at the bar or retire to the comfort of your king-size bed in preparation for yet another magnificent day in the African bush.
Day 3
Game Drive & Breakfast in the AM and Departure to JHB
Today you will head on your last morning Game Drive and enjoy a hearty cold and hot breakfast on Clifftop’s restaurant deck overlooking the Sterkstroom river gorge; the roaring river below and happy chatter of birds accompanying a delicious starter of fruit, homemade granola, cheese and pastries, followed by the tastiest hot English breakfast or omelette.
You will be met by your Mr Shuttle Driver/Guide for your journey back to OR Tambo Airport or your Hotel.
End of tour
